Do you know that the art you created is worth hundreds
or thousands of dollars even if you haven't sold the original yet?
Did you ever sell your painting and get the price you want? Maybe
you sold a small sunflower original art oil painting worth $300.00.
But do you know that it is worth more than that even if you have sold
the original art already?

Why? Because each piece that you created have a buyer in many different forms.
Even if it is not attractive to your neighbor it is attractive to other people that you don't know or to a manufacturer that will reproduce your art in a product many times. Get paid for the design and earn continues royalties.

If you do all these you will realize that one painting alone that you
created is worth thousands of dollars. This process is called licensing.
One illustration that I did few years ago have earned a total royalties
of more than $7000.00 and still earning until now by placing it at SIS.

So don't let your art just hide in your closet! Make use of its rights to generate
more income in many different ways. After selling your original art don't stop there! That image alone will still continue to gain profit by licensing it. Some artists who were smart enough to do in this way are earning from $100,000 to $400,000 or to millions of dollars per year! So get your hopes going and make your dreams come true. If this is so, there is no such thing as starving artists.

Busy Doing Art Fairs & Art Shows

I was too busy exhibiting my paintings and joining art fairs and gallery shows. Just now I got a chance to write to share with you what I had been doing and experience. I went to different art shows and art fairs from October, November and December all which came to be successful. A lot of people were amazed to see my work! Not only that they admired my painting technique but they also felt something within by seing my work. I should say they had experienced something internal not only the exterior beauty of the work. On top of these busy art shows I've been creating new original paintings to add to my art collection mostly big size canvases. One of the art that I just finished is the above original painting "Orchid Show" in acrylic painting on stretched canvas, aprox. 4.5 ft. x 2.5 ft., unframe, $695.00 plus shipping cost.

My 2009 Art Calendar

I was working on my new Calendar 2009 and thinking which painting images
should I put together. I thought of combining my surrealism and floral images.
I felt inspired because it is a good way to see once again all what I did in

I became a member of Twitter few weeks ago and the owner of Perfectly Shaped
World website saw my post with my cute avatar Siamese Cat. She featured me

Currently I am working on a big acrylic painting of a purple phalenopsis orchid
plant. The unique thing here is that I painted the whole plant with its roots
attached to the trunk of a tree branch full of moss. I wanted to show how it
grows wild in the forest. This will be one of the paintings that I will be
exhibiting soon. Below is my orchids painting job in progress.

River Of Life Fantasy Art Print

I am currently getting myself ready to paint and be ready for my next art show
this Oct. 26, Nov. 22 and Dec 10-15, 2008, but as an artist I have to be inspired
in order to start painting creatively. So what I did I am opening myself to ideas
by going to the malls, strolling, walking in the garden, browsing coffee table
books, etc. I love painting nature and expressing what I believe, "exchange
of love in nature". Love is actually hidden in nature. So I think a surrealistic
style is best to express this idea. I am thinking of a flower with
hidden faces. This will greatly symbolize my gaol. Do you have

My Art Show Explosions

Finally I have the time to write about my last art show. I was so busy few weeks ago that I did not even have the time to blog. From my art shows to my trip to New Jersey my time to blog diminished. But anyway the most important thing is my successful art exhibition. The above photos were the last ones held last August at Antigua Aduana in San Jose, Costa Rica. A lot of people came and stopped by my booth to see my latest original paintings of flowers and tropical landscapes in huge sizes.

Heliconia Tropical Flower Painting

As I promised this is the actual painting of different types of heliconia flowers tropical original painting I did. The picture is not quite big and clear but if you will see it close up you will notice small frogs and hummingbirds. This is a big painting with a size of about 48"x48" done in acrylic paints. I will show this in my coming art expo on August. I am still thinking on what to do next. A surrealistic tropical forest landscape or a huge trunk with orchids. Chasing Butterfly Cat Painting Print

I just finished a big painting of heliconia flowers with frogs and hummingbirds. This will be one of my paintings that I will be showing in art show soon. I will be posting this as I progress. For those of you who do not know what is heliconia flower, well it is a tropical flower that looks like pointed fires as I describe it but they look very pretty and exotic. River Of Life Print Art

It's been a very busy week and I can say that I have progress so much that I be finishing my big painting commissions this week. After this I will be painting another big one in acrylic. Sold Orchids Original Painting

I have not been blogging for a long time already! Sorry for not doing it frequently as before. The good news is I've joined a couple of art expositions. Just recently I was invited to join the Plaza Del Sol Art Expo for fours days in the city of San Jose, Costa Rica. It was a success! I sold a couple of original paintings and prints.

Few weeks before this I was at the International Art Festival held at La Sabana, San Jose, Costa Rica. One of the highlight in my show is this original painting of white orchids on a tree done in acrylic in triptych huge canvases. Everybody who stop by and visited my booth loved this painting. In a very short time during the show this piece was sold with a handsome price tag. Currently I am working on a similar piece commissioned by a family who is going to give it as a gift to their mother. I will be finishing this in a few days.

I have been busy these days attending one of the biggest art festival
here in Costa Rica, "International Art Festival" in La Sabana, San Jose,
Costa Rica, April 11-20, 2008. For those of you who might be wondering
where is Jude, this is where I am stuck at this point. I am meeting new
prospects and selling my original paintings and prints. It is a fun thing
to do as an artist. I've learned a lot also on how to sell my art in the
public and in what way I can improve my art in the creative and the business

Inspirations Behind Bamboo Painting

I just want to let you know that the concept or idea behind my paintings is about this thought, "There is a relationship of love in all created things". I paint with a spiritual and inspirational meaning. This was purchased by a wonderful american couple from Costa Rica during my art show last month at Art Expo Escazu in Costa Rica. Below is my artist statement that explaind my inspiration behind this bamboo painting.

MOONLIGHT BAMBOO

There is a relationship of love in all created things! If you will
observe the bamboo inside and outside it has a spiritual meaning. The
bamboo symbolizes the qualities of God. If you will open and cut one of
the bamboo shoots you will see that it is empty and hollow inside which
gives their nature to be: pliable, graceful, grows fast, long and
perfect as if to reach heaven. It always points upward towards the sky
and even at night it glows with the reflection of the beauty of the
moon. The moon cast its light to show the beauty of the bamboo
and eventually brings this elegant and magnificent scene.

Like the bamboo we have to be empty of anything that is not of God
interiorly and exteriorly so that we can be filled with God's divine
qualities to make as strong in virtues with His divine strength. Like
the bamboo we have to have always the intention to love looking only on
the things of heaven and not the things of the world. We have to have
the spirit of joy within us and even in times of trials we have to
become the joy of Jesus like the beauty of the bamboo in the darkness
of the evening tinted with the lovely glow of the moonlight. We have
to radiate the peace and love of God like the silence of the tranquil,
blue tinted night embracing the graceful lovely bamboo.
Praise be Jesus Christ!
